We ended the year with two very sad goodbyes. Sphelele who has been with HNO for 7 years is moving on and up to work for the Pietermaritzburg Mental Health Society. We wish him the very best and look forward to hearing from him on a regular basis. After all, we are family.
After much soul searching we have also decided to close our crèche. This was not an easy decision but geographically we are not well situated for this service, wonderful as it has been. The transporting of the crèche children has become problematic and although the little ones who have attended have benefited greatly HNO’s vision is now to continue the work we have started in the community by supporting and growing the potential and resources of the crèches that are on the children’s doorsteps. This will have much more of a far reaching effect.
I thought I would do a bit of a random photo gallery as we say goodbye to 2012.
Community visits: basic health counselling and advice, distributing resources, sitting in the sun just visiting, praying together…we love all the friends we have out there.
A new mechanical horse for balancing
Thabani is without doubt the most photogenic of all our children at the day care centre

We have new wheels. YAY! The “mobile clinic” is a bit of a misnomer
Shoebox gifts for orphans and vulnerable children. What a lovely day as the children listen to Sphelele and Peter giving a Gospel message. Are we happy or what?
We wish all our supporters and friends all over the world a very happy and blessed 2013 and hope that you all had a jolly good rest over this holiday period.
