I, on behalf of HNO’s Shoebox Committee, would like to thank Thulani Khumalo from MONDI Shanduka Newsprint for arranging sponsorship for this year’s Ward 5 party held on Saturday at Kevelar Mission near Donnybrook. The party was a great success catering for almost 300 children. ‘Baba Kismus’ made yet another appearance and helped to hand Shoebox gifts and party packs out to the children. MONDI has agreed to continue support for the program next year for which we are exceedingly grateful.

We were able to reach almost 300 OVCs based at six local primary schools in the ward. We plan to expand this next year by working even more closely with the schools. Our Shoebox program presently caters for around 1800 OVCs across the first five wards of Ingwe; our ultimate goal is to provide for all the OVCs in all ten wards. This is only possible with support from companies like
