Tuesday the 8th December marked the arrival of 730 completed shoeboxes (1067 Kgs worth!) from Jo’burg donated by South African Breweries’ remarkable BIS Team who overwhelmed us with their amazing generosity and goodwill. A great number of these gifts were sorted at Gail’s Shoebox Room on Thursday in preparation for our second last party, hosted by Sinomhawu AIDS Project, held at Malenge (Shoebox’s most rural outpost) this past Saturday, the 12th November.
The balance of the donation will go towards kick-starting our program for next year. I would like to thank Mzwandile Mtshali and Edith Khunoana for planning and facilitating the team building event designed for the collection of the gifts; te amount of work and planning that went into this was enormous and we at HNO appreciate your commitment to excellence in corporate social investment! BIS has indicated that they would like to adopt HNO’s Shoebox Project as their project for the next two years!
