To all our dear friends who really came to the party when Sandy approached you for sponsorship for the boxes for our community crèche teachers’ workshop we want to say thank you very much.  If you could have visited us on Friday morning you would have received your reward in the reaction and enjoyment of the teachers who were undergoing a very hands – on training session from Sandy.   Every teacher from the 8 crèches that we had visited and invited, arrived and it turned out to be a resounding success.  They just loved being “kids” for the day learning first hand how play and fun is part of the importance of teaching a young child.  Sandy’s preparation for each teacher, having everything ready and maintaining a file and a system, was all a wonderful learning curve for them.  When she showed them the box that each one would receive they were overcome and one of the teachers actually cried.  It really struck us how lonely and frustrating it must be to try and run a crèche so far from any sort of support or encouragement and how a little bit of help goes such a long way.
